Sifu Andrea Sheffield became a certified instructor through Wah Lum Kung Fu of USA in the spring of 2005. Certified Wah Lum instructors must complete a minimum of 10 years' training in the traditional Professional Instructors Program and are required to pass recertification tests every three years.
Since 1995, Sifu Andrea has received intensive training in traditional Kung Fu, Tai Chi Chu'an, and Ch'i Kung under the guidance and instruction of Sifu Michael Johnson, 7th generation Wah Lum senior instructor (www.wahlum.ch) and Grandmaster Chan Pui, Grandmaster of the Wah Lum Tam Tui Northern Praying Mantis System. Through these ancient arts, Sifu Andrea endeavors to assist and empower her students to improve their physical, mental and emotional health, increase their vitality, and sharpen their awareness of both self and others. By guiding those who wish to cultivate a practice resulting in positive personal development, Sifu Andrea hopes to aid in the development of healthier, happier individuals, therefore improving the wellbeing of the community at large.
After graduating from UMASS Amherst with a degree in Sport Management in 1987, Sifu Andrea worked for years in the health and fitness industry before becoming a martial artist.
Sifu Evan Hughes has been training in Wah Lum Kung Fu for over twelve years under the guidance of Sifu Michael Johnson. He received his Instructor Certificate in 2007 and his Sifu Certification in the spring of 2011 from Grandmaster Chan. His past martial arts experience also includes a black belt in Kenpo-Jujitsu and training in Kyokushenkai Karate in Japan, Aikido, and Yang and Chen style T’ai Chi. Sifu Evan is a Doctor of Chiropractic with a private practice in West Concord, Mass.
