On Sept. 25, the Wah Lum Kung Fu school of Concord ran a community festival to raise money to bring awareness and resources for the prevention of youth suicide to the community.  The theme of the festival was "It Takes A Village," after the old adage that "it takes a village to raise a child."

The intergenerational crowd enjoyed a hot, sunny, summer-like, day filled with fun, music, food, sharing, and meeting others who care and are committed to improving the health and well being of kids and community.

A true family event, the festival consisted of a moon walk bounce house, a Velcro wall, dunk tank, face painting, blood drive sign up, t'ai massage, K9 demonstration, and more than 30 prizes donated by local businesses and individuals which were raffled off, including a silent auction for an official Patriots team jersey signed by Randy Moss.  In keeping with the theme of community connection, live music was provided by both adult and youth bands Professional musicians. "Tom Yates & Friends" and the talented teen group "Go Flow Casuals" donated their time and talent to keep the crowed entertained.  Dunkin' Donuts donated coffee and goodies for the morning crowd, and Slow Pokes Barbecue provided pulled pork sandwiches with all the fixings, later in the day.  At 1 p.m., Wah Lum Kung Fu's Demo Team put on a Chinese Team and Kung Fu performance.
