Birthday Parties at Wah Lum Kung Fu of Concord

At Wah Lum Kung Fu of Concord we have organized a way in which you can provide a fun and memorable Birthday Party for your child, WITHOUT having to concern yourself with ...

  • Prepping your house for the party
  • Wondering how much food you'll need
  • Dealing with the post-party clean up
  • Getting invitations and thank you notes sent out
  • And staying sane in the process!

We offer two great options for full and partial packages - choose whichever best suits your needs and budget. Then let us do the rest! To schedule a party and/or if you have any questions, please contact Lee Garafola directly at: leegarafola@gmail.com or call us directly at (978) 371 - 0222.

Party Program

Meet and Greet

All guests are greeted and introduced to Mr. Garafola, Sifu Sheffield, and the school.

Activities

All games and activities involve lots of movement and LOTS of fun! Children should be dressed to move! Only CLEAN athletic shoes are allowed on our state-of-the-art sports floor. Our games/activities focus on teamwork, cooperation, and FUN, not on competition. The number and type of games vary per party.

Happy Birthday

Cake, opening of gifts, and disbursement of favor/goody bags (if applicable) will take place after games and activities have been completed. We ask that the host parent(s) remain at the school until all guests have been picked up. We will be more than happy to help transport anything necessary to your car.

FAQ's
  • How long is a birthday party? The birthday parties run about 2.5 hours. We start on time and ask all guests to arrive a few minutes early.
  • Do the kids actually do/learn Kung Fu during the party? Yes ... and no. All the activities and games that we play at the party are meant to reinforce the basics of movement, physical knowledge and awareness that are essential to all movement arts, not just the martial arts. Absolutely no sparring or drills involving martial contact of any kind are ever a part of the party program.
  • What are the parties based around? We base our parties around the first rule of the school - Respect - of self and others. During the party we will talk about what it means to have and demonstrate respect, most specifically, the key factors necessary such as good attitude, responsibility, communication, awareness, compassion, and patience among others.
  • Who runs the parties? Kung Fu practitioner, Lee Garafola, (who also holds a black belt in Uechi Ryu Karate) has developed and run similar programs and events at other martial arts schools. Mr. Garafola has wide spread experience in working with children. He has run successful programs for the YMCA at Sandy Island Camp in NH and has also worked within the Groton school system as a Special Ed. Teacher and aid, amongst other related experience. Mr. Garafola will coordinate and run all the parties. Owner/Director of Wah Lum Kung Fu of Concord, Sifu Andrea Sheffield, will also be available to answer questions and will oversee the program.
